About us

The Trademark «Ice Rock» stands for excellence and integrity in serving the highest demands of sports professionals and enthusiasts. «Ice Rock» embraces the latest technological advances in the outdoor industry and delivers innovative and high-quality products at competitive price.

At Ice Rock we design and develop new products to match our customer’s specifications and individual requirements. Our products adhere to International standards and are up-to-date with the latest trends in the world of climbing. The basis of any successful product design is the strength ratio between each single element and the product as a whole. We use 3D computer modelling that enables us to model, with high degrees of precision, the loads and forces that the product will undergo. Thus, from the early design stages of the product development we are able to predict and meet all the necessary requirements.

The chief designer working on the IDOL ice axe design:

Our manufacturing process utilizes the latest technology enabling us to both realize and execute the proto-type designs of the R&D department and at the same time increase the final product’s quality.

Our quality control comprises of 4 stages:

Stage 1. Strength calculations

The design of any successful product has at its roots the strength ratio between each single element and the product as a whole. We use 3D computer modelling that enables us to model, with high degrees of precision, the loads and forces that the product will undergo. Thus from the early design stages of the product development we are able to accurately design the product that is ready to meet all necessary requirements.

Stage 2. Material Selection

For our manufacturing purposes we only select materials with quality assurance certificates. Every time we purchase metal stock we check its compliance with the industry standards and technical specifications.

Stage 3.  Inspection stage during manufacturing of component parts

Visual inspection and quality control is carried out through all the stages of the manufacturing process. The hardness test is conducted during the heat treatment process.

Stage 4. Component parts assembly and the final inspection

On completion of the assembly stage we conduct a visual inspection. Using a random sample method we select the candidates for testing using the tensile test machines and conduct further analysis of the obtained results (test data). Only if the product tested meets all the necessary requirements and with satisfactory test data, is the product then packed and the quality control (“OTK”) stamped on the certificate.

The high quality and standards of our products have been verified by protocols of the accredited test laboratories in Europe. Our company is proud to be the first national manufacturer in this industry field to obtain international quality assurance certificates on its products.
